ADGP Says Private Security Guards Are Deficient In Training
While addressing the 3rd state conference of Central Association of Private Security Industry (CAPSI) and Association of Private Detectives and Investigators (APDI) held in Chennai, Sanjay Arora, ADGP (operations) in Tamil Nadu, stated that around 40 percent of private security companies operating in the state haven`t imparted any training to their guards and this is a cause to worry about. He talked about the latest attacks on security guards, along with the murder of a security guard at an ATM located in Mahabalipuram and that of a private finance company in Avadi and mentioned that studies undertaken by the police department have shown that private security companies don`t provide training to their security guards.
The chairman of TN & Puducherry chapter, CAPSI, Capt Shibu Isacc reveals that it`s time to regulate the private security agencies in Tamil Nadu. He adds that the work safety, salaries and the welfare of security guards need to be considered seriously.
Kunwar Vikram Singh, the chairman of CAPSI, states that providing pan-India training to security guards is the urgent requirement and the government will soon clamp down on those private security companies which are not providing training to their guards.
