Security Tips

The following security measures could be useful for the residents living in group housing societies or independent villas/bungalows:

• Windows/other small openings should be covered with strong iron grills
• Put a strong main door with magic eye and chain lock .
• Install burglar alarms if possible.
• Security lights must be kept on during night.
• Do not allow unidentified visitors inside the house when alone.
• Servants and all other employees like ayahs, drivers etc, must be verified by the police. Keep their photographs /biodatas handy.
• Keep a dog if feasible.
• Do not keep valuables/heavy cash amount at home.
• Install an emergency bell at your neighbors.
• Lock the house properly when going out. Leave a light on if going for a short duration. Inform the security guard and also your neighbors if going for a longer period.
• House hold effects should be insured.
• During night time, avoid lonely and unlighted areas. Females! Please take special note.
• Do not leave valuables in your car. Also remove your music system, if detachable.
• Use tainted glasses or pull the curtains to avoid visibility inside the house.
